About the author

Dr. Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi (1950 to 2010) was born in Kandhla, Uttar Pradesh, and completed the traditional Dars-e-Nizami course before earning higher degrees and a PhD from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He taught at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, held the office of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and served as a judge of the Federal Shariat Court.
