The book was originally written in Persian verse about one and a half centuries ago by Pizada Ghulam Rasool Sharva Zoonimari (d.1288 AH) father of the famous historian Hasan Khoihami. Its translation was rendered by the late Khawaja Nazir Ahamad Kashtwari (retired Under Secretary GAD J&K Govt.) The English translation has been attempted literally by the compiler.
The book is divided into several chapters, each one dedicated to a different saint and their miraculous feats. The author draws from a vast range of sources, including classical Arabic and Persian texts, to provide readers with an in-depth understanding of the history, culture, and beliefs of the Sufi tradition in Kashmir.
