Why students choose the NCERT book

• It is published by NCERT itself, the body that prepares the national school textbooks
• It is the book most schools and teachers refer to when they explain science in Class 10
• It brings the subjects of science together in one volume
• It is reasonably priced, so one copy per student is affordable

What kind of book is it?

Class 10 science brings together ideas from chemistry, biology and physics, along with environmental topics, in a single textbook. Units are divided into chapters, with explanations, figures, activities and exercise questions at the end. The exact chapter list depends on the edition and on the session, since NCERT revises its books from time to time. Please check with your school which edition and syllabus your class follows, and message us on WhatsApp at 9906523492 if you want help confirming the copy in stock.

How to study with the NCERT Science Textbook

• Read each chapter slowly once before looking at the questions
• Do the activities and observe the diagrams carefully, since science is learnt by seeing as well as reading
• Write definitions, laws and formulae on small revision cards
• Draw and label diagrams by hand until you can do them without looking
• Solve the exercise questions in your own words before checking with your teacher
• Revise a little every day instead of leaving everything to the last week

Tips for parents and teachers

Parents can help by setting a fixed daily study time and by asking the child to explain one topic aloud, which quickly shows what has been understood. Teachers can use the textbook’s activities for class discussion and group work. A student who knows the textbook well is in a better position to follow school lessons and to attempt exams with confidence, though results always depend on regular effort and understanding.
